“Let Me Noodle On It”

Inspired by one of my brother’s favorite phrases, “let me noodle on it” is a 30x30 acrylic on canvas. This piece has gone through many stages, resulting in layers of pastel colors.

The name came to me when the piece was in its one of its many “awkward stage” (IYKYK) and I struggled with where I wanted it to go. Sometimes when a piece hits this stage I try to keep going, more often than not, digging myself deeper in the awkwardness. With this piece, I realized I needed to step away and noodle on it. And I absolutely LOVE how it all came together after taking some time away.

As a type A, ADD, checklist loving person who is perpetually starting a new project, this piece serves as a reminder of the importance of taking time to pause, step away and think. Don’t make a quick decision or push through just to get something done and checked off the list. Let yourself noodle.
